This post is about some cool things do at the beach and while your enjoying your summer!

Beach Day Fun

Beach days one of the most fun part of summer so some fun things to do..

•My favorite, (when it's not to cool) jumping into the water! It's even more fun with friends and family so before you go, call them up!

•Running around the beach is another fun one! Grab a football or frisbee and throw it around.

•Build the ultimate sandcastle! First build a sand castle or mountain, and then build a river to the shore!

•Boogie boarding! I love surfing the waves. Grab your board head out to sea!

Sun tanning! With the right products, you can get a nice even tan without feeling all sticky and icky!
•Catching up on a book. Although its not the first that comes to mind when you think of fun at the beach but it is quite relaxing and it is a great way to get a tan while your at it!

X-Men: days of Future Past

I recently saw this movie and though it seems like a total guys movie, with all the X-Men and good guy vs. bad guy thing but I personally loved it! There was always action during the movie and it was super exiting! I loved it and Jenifer Lawrence is one of the main characters, so for you Jenifer fans, you get to see her! How to do a fishtail braid! I love fishtail braids! They are like regular braids in the sense because of the twisting but they give a whole other look! With just a couple of differences in the steps of making a braid, you can have a perfect fishtail braid! Click here to see how to do one!

Amazing deal from Forever 21! A maxi skirt that use to be 19.80 but now is only $6.93! The pattern is a sheer material with a short black skirt under it to give you coverage. 

I love these maxi skirts and they are perfect for summer and I could just picture a pretty floppy hat and flip flops! Perfect for a trip to the beach.

Vacation Fun Guide!

So what are some cool things to do, and cool places to go while enjoying your vacation? Well I am going to do a little guide on how to make your vacation as fun as possible! 

While packing, you may want to make a list or just grab what you think you need, but it is important to bring the right stuff for fun vaca! 
Here is Packing Checklist:

• Fashionable/Functional clothes- Fashionable so you can feel confident and functional so that it is easy to pack and it will keep you warm or cool 

• Shoes- A trick to bringing less shoes... pick only a couple pair that match with every outfit, so plain colors like silver sparkles, one solid color, and a black pair (goes with most everything)

• Hair- Pack in a separate bag, only your hair needs, such as bobby pins, mousse, gel, clips, brush, hairspray, ponytail bands, and/or a comb. That's all you really need, and packing less saves space

• Accessories- Every girl needs accessories but how much is too much? Bring only one piece of jewelry for every two outfits so you can avoid over-packing 

• Bathing suits- If you are spending time by the shore or at a hotel with a pool, you have to pack your fav bathing suit! Whether it's a bikini or a one-piece, you should plan it out. If you are staying about a week pack three or four sets of bikinis. If you are staying about four days, pack 2 or 3, and if you are staying less than that, pack 1 or 2 so you can enjoy you sun soaking day

• Soap- (Just to be safe, have all liquid soaps and scrubs in a plastic bag, then in a separate bag from your clothes!) Pack body soap or scrub only if you need to because most likely, the hotel will provide it. You should pack your own shampoo and conditioner because like scrubs, shampoo and conditioner is sometimes provided, but their hair products may not be high quality

• Electronics- Of course you want to bring your phone, but don't forget the charger! You may want to bring your tablet too so you can keep up with your games! its important to take lots of pics too

Fun on Your Trip!
While your enjoying your vacation, its important to take some picture so that you can show your friends and post them on instagram! Make sure you take at least one pic everyday so that you can make a collage and then post it! What editor I use for cool pics... read the next post to find out!
Another way to make your stay fun is knowing all the "hotspots" around the area. Obviously if your in Hollywood, you might want to go shopping and check out the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" so go to Google and search "hotspots" or ask your hotels' concierge some fun places to visit!

Fault in Our Stars

I have heard such amazing things about this movie. I, am personally someone that loves romance and love stories. I was super exited to see this movie! but some of my friends who saw it, aren't into love stories, and they weren't thrilled to watch it! They said when they did watch it they surprisingly loved it! I recently had my stylist make me a white polka-dotted one because I couldn't find my size in the one I wanted. I love wearing it with a crop top so that u don't have to tuck anything in or cover up your skirt!

Summer is almost here and it for sure my favorite season! Not only because the warm weather and the beach days, but also because of the fashion! Light blues, bright pinks, and sunshine yellows and oranges, so let's talk about a girls favorite things to do in the summer!

I recently went and saw the new movie, "Maleficent" it is my new favorite movie! With Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, it completes the movie! A New Trend!

A new trend has been set, and many is following it! The new trend... Grosgrain Ribbon Bows! Thats the name of the ribbon that's used for the bows. I have found them many places and they are all different prices!  They are also called big or oversized bows!

Sometimes its hard to know where to apply it so below is a little guide!

My Idol: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was a British actress , born in 1929, and a humanitarian, who was active during Hollywood's Golden Age. She was recognized as a film and fashion icon, and once won an academy award for best actress! She starred in several movies such as, "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Sabrina", "Funny Face", and "My Fair Lady!" Audrey Hepburn was such an amazing actress, and inspires me. Her movies and work is definitely worth watching and seeing!

New Years with A Sparkle #29

New Years Post

New years is here so we are going to include where to get the newest styles and where all the great deals are so keep reading. Also in this post: how to host a great New Years party!

Hosting a Party

Parties are always fun but you need to keep your guests entertained. (These are tips targeting people who have already planned because you want to leave yourself a lot of time... also these tips are great for any party even if it is not for New Years)

Step one:

Leave yourself plenty of time so send out invitations 4-3 weeks before your party so people can reserve that date and you can be ready!

Step two:

Don't make this an alone project because unless you can handle it, it's always good to have friends help you! It's always fun to plan parties and your friends should be understanding. 

Step three:

You should choose a theme. If it's a birthday party it helps your guest pick out a gift. Even if it is a party it always will keep your guests entertained to have a theme!

Step four:

Picking a place is always going to tie in with the theme so choose wisely. If yours or a friends house is big, then use it because you want your guests to be able to move around and not be crowded in a small space. If you are using a public place, it is good to reserve it or a room, so that you don't have little kids walking up and wanting cake, like at the park. You don't want people to be walking up and trying to joint the party.You can give someone who works at the place, a list of people who RSVPd so only they can get into the party room.

Step five:

Plan games. Depending on how long you party, you should always plan a few more games then you anticipate playing because you never know how long each game may take, and you might just want to play things safe!

Step 6:

Decide on the menu early in the party planning process  on what foods you will be serving your guests so you can make a list of foods to buy. Make sure you get a variety of things so all of your guests can enjoy some food. I you forget something you can barrow some from a friend.

Step 7:

As soon as you have the core parts of your party set (date, time, location food entertainment) , start inviting people. If your house is at least 2500 sq ft. (average size) then 20 guests or more so your house is not empty should be a good amount , so invite at least 30. Make sure when inviting people, you don't do it in front of people who you are not inviting. Just so you aren't hurting peoples feelings.

Step 8:

The valuables. Keep anything that can be bumped or broken in an off-limits room. Cell phones, tablets, and other electronics, should be kept in your drawer so it can't be misplaced, broken, or stolen. 

Step 9:

Set the mood. When people start to arrive welcome them and they will feel comfortable right away. Dress in something that goes with the theme of  your party so people will be talking about the party afterward.

Step 10:

Put out less chairs then there are people so people can mingle. Also remember to put out end tables by chairs, so people can set their food down.

Step 11:

Invite people to your party and then talk to them so they can feel welcome.

Step 12:

Remember to have background music loud enough to hear but quiet enough so that people can hear each other

Step 13:

Thank people for coming as they leave and hand them a goodie bag or thank you note, and your party will be successful!

Fashionable Petz

So fashion can be expressed in your clothes, room, and hair, but as well as your pet. Maltese dogs are very small, fashionable but also expensive. Some prices range in the thousands. You can get them at a better price the bigger they are, but teacup size (literally) being the most popular, they are really expensive so if you are looking for a money saver then you might not find a little one. You end up spending around $300 if you buy a bigger one, like a foot long. If you want a teacup Maltese, Then around $5000 so if you find a little one for less than $3000, give me a call. LOL. Its always great to dress up a pooch on your arm, so I found some really good dog outfits from miniinthebox.com. 

Mini In The Box also has jewelry at a great price and I got some rings and necklaces for $00.99 each which was a real money saver!

Christmas Gift Guide

Here are some tips for what you may want and what you could give at an affordable price for everyone in your family!

For girls from 10-13

Gift cards are always a good gift if you are not quite sure what to get or if you that person loves a store, you can get a gift card to that store. 

Homemade gifts are always cool, like a frame or a scrapbook with filled with picture you and the person you are giving it to. 

I one year got a cute little ticket that was handmade and it was a day together and the one who got it bought us tickets to the movies and we went together, I loved that gift.

Teenage girls

Teenage girls, well depending on what they like, a lotion from bath and body works with a matching body spray or a perfume from a singer she likes is what I do

Also a new pair of shoes in their size in a brand they love is also a great present. (include gift receipt in case the shoes don't fit)
Girls 20 and up
If they have a hobby then you shouldn't have trouble getting them something. If they have their own house a kitchen appliance or a candle is always nice. A family photo (if they are family) is a great gift too!
Guys 10-13
They are still at a young at a young age so if their is a toy or game they like then you are the right track. If they have a Wii or device like that of some sort then get them a game disc and they should be happy you did (make sure they don't already have the game and it is something he will enjoy!)
Teenage guys
That's a tough one. Depending on their style, a nice jacket or shirt from a band they like or just any cool shirt would be nice. (you can also talk to the boys parents about something he may like)
Guys 20 and up
Guys at this age may have a girlfriend that they are serious about so you can always get him something to go with the whole idea of that. Also (if they are family) an old picture of your family (new or recent). If they are into science-y stuff then you can get them a model telescope or rocket. If they like sports the you should be good to go!

Frozen was Awsome

My friend and I went to see Frozen and it was amaze! From the animations to the voices to the story, I would definitely recommend it. Fans say must go (including myself) critics just say go! Fandango.com is a great way to brows movies and see when they are in theaters (instead of finding out the show times when you arrive) and you can buy, and print your tickets at home which saves lots of time. You can also watch trailers to any movie that is playing in theaters so you can decide more easily what movie you want to watch. Once you get an account all of your perches data can be viewed in an email and you can officially rate the movies you watch so others can decide if they want to watch it too!

Every year we will have a "Thanks For Giving Fashion" special so lets kick of this Thanksgiving with some fashion tips!

Fashion Tips 101

Thanksgiving colors include brown, wine red, orange, and beige and sometimes those colors are hard to match so keep this in mind...

Beige + Orange = no!

The reason why these two colors in a look don't look good because orange is such an overpowering color so unless beige is in a pattern with a very soft light shade of orange in maybe a plaid or striped skirt or pocket on a plain shirt.
Beige + Brown = your Fall colors are rocking!
These two colors go well together because brown is a very subtle color and so is beige and it is a creamy color.

wine red/ dark red + orange = this sometimes is trickey!
Wine red and orange are sometimes hard to match when you have them just two articles of clothing with no pattern so you can always ask an employee on the floor if you are deciding at a store how to match a top with a skirt or shorts.

Turbo was Terrific

I love the movie Turbo it was cute but at the same time energetic. Some parts were a bit cheesy but I thought it was a good movie for your whole family to see! While one of the "Dos Bros Tacos" believes that Theo, the snail AKA Turbo can be entered in the big car race, his friend, also who works at "Dos Bros Tacos" says that since he is a snail he cannot be entered in a race that is for people racing in cars. Do an airbrush effect on your nails in three easy steps

What you will need.

1.Kiss Gradation Polishes
(Comes in a 3 pack so you can do it in 3 easy steps)

2.Nail clippers (so your nails are even and can have a beautiful effect)

1.Apply the polish that is marked step one over all of your nails and over every part

2.Apply the polish that is marked step two only on one third of your nails (the top part of your nails)

So on a couple Friday nights ago, my friend and I had a sleepover and the back door was left open so of course, me of all people was bitten by a spider. I was not a black widow or brown recluse or brown widow it was a wolf spider, I couldn't do school because I had to keep my leg elevated and not to much, that Monday and so I was board and went on my laptop and some how got to nick.com and it is really fun. Fall is here so what is in and what is out and where can you get the "In Fashions". 

High Boots, Long Skirts

I have always loved the whole high sock or boot with a medium or long flowy skirt. That is why I am thrilled that when I am wearing them this season, it's whats in. I have a skirt similar to this and i wore it with a pair of high boots and a top that complimented the skirt just like this shirt does to this skirt below.

This style is  functional now that the weather is getting cooler. I always wear longer skirts with higher socks or boots when it starts getting colder- you don't want to wear long pants all the time.

You can get a skirt like this from Target and boots like this from lots of places in your nearest mall. I just use some of my old softball high socks  when I want that look.

I can't believe it has already been one year since I have started Fashionista Elementary! I just want to say thank you to all my readers and especially my friends who are there first to read it. So school is going to start soon and you are still not don shopping...

Last minute Clothes

Right now a summer dress with a cardigan sweater and strappy sandals would be a good look for the first day of school if you don't want a studious look and you can find an outfit like this at JC Penny and a lot of other adorable styles there. Justice has cute styles like plaid, half sleeved, button-up, shirts. Also plaid skirts that would go well with a tie and suspender tee.

Last second Backpacks

Backpacks are always complicated because it's what you have to wear or roll everyday for the rest of the year, but weather you are ordering online or shopping for one in stores, target is a store you can always rely on. Jworld is a backpack brand you can rely on because you don't want a backpack that is too bright and clashy because it might stand out more than than your outfit and might not look so good with what you wear, so I would do something simple but of course something adorable!

So, in my last post I mentioned there would be a huge surprise and here it is.
Starting in my next post, in every post, there will be a movie review section, a how to do section which is where there will be a featured hair style, and how you can easily do it, also a popular season look and where you can get it! First day of School

Lately the question how should my hair be and what should I wear on the first day of school, and what I tell them is something that expresses your style and what you like. And your hair, do something that you like and feel confident in.
The other day when we went on vacation up to Big Bear and Lake Arrow Head and on the second part of our trip at Lake Arrow Head we went to a part of the Lake where there is white sand and you can swim in the warm water. There was a girl and she asked if I wanted to hang with her so I said yes and we were just talking and she asked me stuff and so I told her I have a fashion blog and she was like awesome and so I gave her my business card and so she asked me for my number and we were texting each other and she asked how her make-up should be,(since she is going into middle school) and what she should where and I said what ever you feel good in and she starting giving me ideas of what she should wear and so I told her what outfit I like best that she described to me and she said she thanked me and said that she likes my blog and everything and that she is nervous for the first day of school. So after that it gave me the idea of a little first day of school advice!
